Training for, through and in research, with continuity from master's to doctorate level
For the training section, the Marseille imaging institute is based on 5 partner faculties (university training entities) with around 290 students on the programmes attached to our institute and 4 partner doctoral schools in our scope with around 150 PhD students.
The Marseille imaging institute offers a range of activities for masters and PhD students in the field: a biannual thematic school and R&D seminars in biomedical imaging, 4 to 6-month laboratory immersion courses, interdisciplinary theses and special training courses in artificial intelligence for imaging.
Internationally, we are developing close collaborations with the CIVIS alliance, European civic university, and offer mobility (missions, conferences, internships) to Europe, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Thailand, Vietnam and Colombia. Our thematic imaging school is fully in English and brings together more than 10 nationalities. The institute also has an Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree (Chemical nano-engineering, Europhotonics) and coordinates the FairEmbo societal chair with Cambodia, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Chad.

Interdisciplinary training for PhD students from our partner doctoral schools
Thanks to a valuable grant from the institute, I was able to take part in a training camp that enabled me to acquire useful knowledge about biomedical imaging technologies and their application to research. In addition, I had the opportunity to present and discuss my PhD work with other highly motivated PhD students from different fields of research.
